What is the best place to order Window Blinds?

I just got new retro-fit windows in my house and I love them! But now my old blinds don't fit anymore. That's okay because I was ready for a change anyway.

I would like to order white wood or faux-wood blinds for many of the windows. Where is the best place to get them? I have looked at blinds.com and that looks good, and I am thinking about having Budget Blinds come out and give me an estimate.

Has anyone had any good or bad experience with either of these companies, or any other nationally operating companies? Thanks for any suggestions!

  1. Try Smith + Noble (.com) they have very good selections and are very reasonable; and have decent quality. Where budget companies skimp is on cheaper hardware, no header (the piece at the top that hides the hanging hardware); and poorer retract mechanisms, and fewer coats of lacquer/paints. Try & get a sample of the blind material sent to you if you oder on line so you can look & feel it & compare it to others.
  2. I bought mine from Lowes and Home Depot.
  3. I like JCPennys or Home Depot

They have a large selection you can choose from from there catalog.

    Good luck
  4. We just bought wood 2 inch plantation blinds from Loews very reasonably. We priced against Home Depot but they were higher with fewer options. Take a look at Loews before you decide. We thought the faux wood would do the job but once we hung one or two we took them all back. Faux wood is plastic and it sags just like plastic mini blinds so the look will always be uneven and unsightly. Spend the few extra dollars more and buy wood wherever you get them.
  5. This is my favorite site for blinds:

They have the best prices - even on Hunter Douglas & Bali brands - they're customized to fit your window exactly, and they'll send you samples in the mail so you can see how they coordinate with your decor.
