which way to face the window blinds?

I live on the 2nd floor of an apartment. There are always people outside my window at night, and I want the most privacy I can get. Which way do I face the blinds? Do I want people to see

this --> ( part of the blind

or this --> ) part of the blind?

  1. I don't totally understand your question, so I have two answers. If you are installing the blinds, of course the pull cord and rod have to be on the inside.

Other wise I always turn my blinds so the gap allows the sun to shine in from above (I can see the sky). This will block the view from below.
  2. If you close you blinds down, no one below can see up into your rooms. If you close them up, they will be able to see in.
  3. I understand what you are asking. If you close them by turning the skinny know one way, you can see in from above, and if you turn the skinny knob the other way, people can see in from below. It doesn't matter which way you mount them, it only matters which way you turn the knob to close them.
  4. Close your blinds with the slats turning up. If they are turned down, someone standing close enough can look right in. The rounded, curved side of the blind - ( - should be facing the window, and seen from the outside; and the opposite side - ) - is what you should see from inside.
