How to clean venetina blinds that are too long for the tub/shower?

We have venetian blinds that are filthy. They are too long for the tub, and we live in an urban apartment so we can't really do anything in the "yard" or parking lot. Any suggestions?

  1. You take off the blinds from the hooks. You can use soap & water to clean it with. Then you can give antibatceria wipe down with some Lysol or Formula 409 with a sponge.
  2. You could just clean one slat at a time with them hanging in place. Just take a wet rag and hold over the slat and run it down the length to clean. If they are really bad and you want to take them down to clean, take them to a do it yourself carwash and clean them there
  3. Can you stand them on end in the tub, instead of laying them down?
  4. I just make mine as long as they will go and carry them outside, lay them on my driveway and hose them with the sprayer attachment then flip them over and do the same on the other side. Then allow them to just air dry in the sun. Keeps the bathroom nice and dry.
  5. Do you have a removable shower curtain you can flop them over and run a shower on them. Spray with cleaner and run a shower again. Or do you have a patio railing or fence.
  6. Take them to the car wash. Have a nice day.
