Is there an easy way to clean vertical blinds?

Our cat sits on the inside of the blinds and coats them in black fur. Is there an easy way to clean them without taking them down and having to hoover each individual blind?

  1. those swifter duster wands work well on my blinds but if the cat's up there a lot you might have to do it every other day
  2. they have one of those new static dusters.

they use the static electricity to pick up stuff like fur, lint, dust, ets..

    they arent that expensive either....
  3. no. the best way is to remove them (they should slide right of their clips), and place the slats or louvers in the bathtub filled with warm water and dawn dish soap. don't put the mechanical part in their it may rust or seize up. let them soak for 20 minutes then rinse them with clean water. i have tried every other method, if you really want them clean this way works the best. clean the windows thoroughly while the blinds are soaking. you will be amazed at how dirty this area is.
  4. One solution is to get rid of the cat....only kidding.. NO NONE it is a beast of burden if ever I heard of one, if you love your CAT then you will have to vacuum it whenever it gets to unsightly
  5. yes there is, a easy way...
  6. if possible take tem outside onto a flat surface and and et a bucket of water wic contains soap and bleach and use a broom to scrub tem rinse ood and an somewere to dry
  7. Why don't you try using sticky tape to get the hairs off, works wonders with cat hairs and my fleece coat.
  8. For dusting the cat hairs I agree with the swiffer.

If you are doing a thorough washing the blind spring cleaning thing then the bathtub is the best.
