How do i take down my venetian blinds?

I need to paint my kitchen but there are ventian blinds fitted to the ceiling in the bay widow. I cant see how they disconnect/unscrew so that I can take them down. Painting around them would look terrible. Can anyone tell me how they are usually fitted.

  1. Usually, at either end of the blind, there is a square socket, with a hinged door, in to which the top of the blind is fitted.

Simply open the hinged "door" at each end and remove the blind.

I would not recommend removing the sockets, as they are fiddly to put up again, what with the confined space.
  2. ... also look for little holes that have been plugged.
  3. Most of them have a pair of clasps on the top at each end with a little tab overhanging the top rail of the blind. Pull the tabs forward and the blind will release.
