Would you recommend using guinea pig manure around the home garden? is it as good as say, cow/horse manure?

I remember reading somewhere that you can use the manure of any animal that only eats plants, but i'm doubtful of whether to use it or not. can't find much info on the net about it.

  1. if it,s not mixed with wood chip litterr it,s ok. when wood deterorates it takes allthe nitrogen outof your soil. i would let it age at least six or eight months before i used it though
  2. you probably can't find much information because it would take a huge number of guinea pigs to produce the amount of manure one horse can produce. There is absolutely NO reason NOT to use it unless, as the other post notes, it is mixed up with wood shavings.
  3. I would put it in a compost heap first and let it ferment for a while, but yes, it's great fertilizer.
